Importing

Hi:-)
I am hoping that someone can help me, please?  I am very new to Filmotech and things don't seem to be happening as I hoped they would.
I am trying to import my movie list from Movie Collectorz to Filmoyech.  I have exported the MC list as an .xml file. When I go to Filmotech and try to import it, it can't see anything in the .xml file. I have opened the .xml file and verified that it does contain my list.  I will attach a photo showing the result that I get in Filmotech.  Any helpful suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
Regards
David

    Hi,

Well, XML is just a markup langage, that doesn't mean that the XML file used by Filmotech is the same as the one used by Movie Collectorz.
You need to export a CSV file, if available, with Movie Collectorz, and then import this file. You probably need to manipulate the file to order and format columns the way Filmotech expected them. See this (french) FAQ:  https://www.filmotech.fr/faq_fr/doku.php/faq/import_csv

Thanks for your advice. I was able to import a .csv file into Filmotech but, as you forewarned, the columns aren't in the Filmotech order.  Is there a quick way to manipulate a .csv file, or do I have to cut and paste everything?  (Not looking forward to doing that as there are 5,000 titles in my file.)
    Thanks again for your help!

You can try with Excel, but be careful with multiline fields (any line feed will be seen as a new line), or I think there is more powerful tools for editing CSV
